Sex is usually an awkward topic when you bring it into various forms of media. Some people still have issues with TV shows, movies, music, books and games dealing with the topic of sex. It’s a natural part of life, and it can no doubt be a story point that helps to strengthen the bond between characters…or even tear them appart in some instances. While most other medias manage to bring the topic of sex across in meaningful ways, games are still struggling. Why is it that devs can’t work this part of life into games? Article here

Once again, my email is being flooded with notes concerning the leak of the intro video for Metroid: Other M. I will not be posting that video, nor will we point to anyone that does have it. At the event, we were asked not to take any video footage/pictures of the Metroid: Other M demo. As I stated yesterday, someone decided to ignore that rule and do as they please. Now someone else has taken it a step further by spreading a video around. I find it unfortunate that someone would take Nintendo’s offer to play, agree to their terms and then ignore them completely. Instances like these will only lead Nintendo to be even more secretive than they already are.

Updating from this laptop while stranded in San Francisco is no fun. Work takes me longer, and the sun just taunted me from the window. I was going to try getting an early jump on things tomorrow…but it’s supposed to rain here! I think mother nature is out to get me. I’m off to sleep, and I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a nice day tomorrow. See you all in a few, short hours. We’ve got a real epic ‘bit and run’ for you guys today! Put your reading glasses on and snuggle up to your screen for another fantastic comic from Cory. I’m more and more impressed every week. That’s why I have less to say when I post these up. I just want you guys to dive right in!

Well, we’ve never had a podcast like this one, and I hope we never do again. My voice is completely shot due to the cold I have, and it only gets worse as the show progresses. We’ve never missed a show, and I’m not letting this damn cold ruin that streak! Thanks for putting up with my mind-numbing shrills this week. Download the show here (come on and SLAM this into your ears, it’s time to JAM!) Link

I can’t tell if my cold is getting better or worse. I think all the ‘yucks’ from my head are draining down into my throat. That’s a good thing, right?! Oh well, enough with the gross talk. I hope you guys are all feeling great and healthy! I’ll see you all in a few, short hours. Cory has some special words to say this week, so I’ll step out of the virtual way and let him get to his message. I think you’ll like what you read. I wanted to take a minute and say thank you to everyone who has enjoyed these comics. They are a joy to make and I’m pleased that they’ve been so well received. I also wanted to make one thing clear regarding “bit and run” — I’ve actually got two volumes of comics written. My plan all along has been to run Vol. 1 from January 1 - March 26 and then take a break and use my free time to prepare for the San Diego Comic-Con (end of July) then begin releasing Vol. 2 from August 6 - October 29, another 3 month run. As much as I’ve loved making Vol 1., Vol. 2 is even better I think. Thanks again to Kevin and GoNintendo for this great partnership! - Cory

Yesterday we learned that Square-Enix doesn’t really believe that the traditional Final Fantasy series has a place on any current platforms outside of the PS3 and 360. I can’t say that I was shocked to hear that, but it’s a little surprising to see the company so up front about the issue. I guess that’s a good thing, but it still is a tad disconcerting to know that Square-Enix probably won’t even consider Wii for a true Final Fantasy. If Dragon Quest IX can hit DS and Dragon Quest X can hit Wii, why can’t the next Final Fantasy do the same? Article here

Does it bother you that we may never see Final Fantasy proper on Wii?
The next bit of promotional material has come through for Dementium II, and this has to be the most disturbing one yet. It’s a Valentine’s Day card that arrived late, but I can see that extra care went into this one…
