Obviously not a full list of events and happenings, but a guide to some of the bigger things we know of right now. Who knows though…after next week, Nintendo could unleash all sorts of crazy announcements! Link

We know what the reviewers said about Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, but what does the everyday gamer have to say? In this feature, we get to see what Japanese gamers had to say about the title, according to their Amazon star review scores, as well as written summaries. Did you guys check out the opening ceremony for the Olympics? What did you all think? I liked it, but it was quite long! I’m definitely ready for some real sporting events. I can’t wait to check those out tomorrow! I’m going to hit the hay in order to gear up for the programming! See you all in a few, short hours. Man, what happened to Saturday mornings that were full of cartoons? The major networks used to flood the airwaves with cartoons every Saturday morning, and a bulk of the cable stations did as well. I remember the USA Cartoon Express, and this show was a part of it! Now we’re lucky that the CW and Cartoon Network show cartoons on Saturdays. When did someone decide that cartoons on Saturday mornings were bad for you? Let’s pretend like those old Saturday mornings are still alive and kicking. Snuggle up to your monitor and check out episode 2 of the Street Fighter cartoon. The show is so damned bad, and that’s why I love it. Cheesy Saturday morning cartoons at their best. Time to head off to bed for the night…or play some more Super Mario Galaxy. I’m so proud of Mom Brain for giving the game a shot today, and she absolutely loved it. She played for hours, and can’t wait to go at it again later today. I think I’ll sneak in a little bit before she hogs it! See you all in a few, short hours. These ‘bit and run’ early Friday mornings are starting to get me a bit depressed. I really think Cory’s work is top-notch, and I look forward to his latest work with every day that passes. The problem is, these features are going to end long before I’d like them to. Cory’s giving us 3 months of features, and that will be that. I guess it’s better to end on a high note than peter out. What am I even talking about?! We aren’t at the end of the series yet! Time for me to just shut up and enjoy each feature while it’s here. I suggest you do the same, and feel free to leave Cory and comment or two!

There’s no better time to talk about this question than right now, especially for Nintendo fans. We’re going to see a new Mario title, a new Metroid title, and hopefully a new Zelda title this year. Three of gaming’s biggest icons, all of them with varying amounts of speech. There’s no doubt that Samus is going to talk more than ever in Metroid: Other M. Chances are Mario will stick to his short bursts of excitement in his next outing. When it comes to Link…would Nintendo really add a voice to the hero, outside of his grunts? Article here

Returning participants will notice that most of the rules and guidelines are the same as last year, but we’ve been working hard to make exciting changes that will make the 2010 Pokémon Video Game Championships better than ever! These changes include: * Players now using Pokémon HeartGold or SoulSilver Version games exclusively * Pokémon Level 51 and higher being automatically graded down to Level 50 for the duration of the battle using a new auto-leveling feature o Each Pokémon keeps all of the moves it knew before being adjusted o Pokémon that evolve after Level 50 don’t devolve o Any Pokémon below Level 50 will stay at its current level * Virtually every Pokémon found in the National Pokédex of Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions is eligible, including Pokémon traded in from earlier games, with the following exceptions: o Arceus, Celebi, Darkrai, Deoxys, Jirachi, Manaphy, Mew, Phione, and Shaymin cannot participate o A team cannot contain more than two of Dialga, Giratina, Groudon, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Lugia, Mewtwo, Palkia, and Rayquaza during a battle Stay tuned for more information regarding the upcoming Pokémon Video Game Championships! Look for details around March 14th when Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions arrive in stores! Thanks to LaserSamurai for the heads up! Link

“Nintendo Australia is always pushing for games to be released here at the same time as the rest of the world, so we were pleased to get New Super Mario Bros. Wii before anyone else. Unfortunately, due to to the actions of this individual, future release dates may be affected for Australia, which is disappointing for us.” - Nintendo of Australia spokesperson Ouch…that really hurts the Aussie gamers out there. Normally you would chalk a statement like this up to a bluff, but with Nintendo you know that it could be the real deal. This is a real shame…just when Australia was getting things ironed out with their releases. Thanks to Vooks for the heads up! Link

Yeah, this was pretty much a disaster of a game for Acclaim. Talk about taking a successful franchise and completely ruining it. I wish the Dave Mirra games were still around…and as good as they used to be. Article here
