Yesterday we learned that Square-Enix doesn’t really believe that the traditional Final Fantasy series has a place on any current platforms outside of the PS3 and 360. I can’t say that I was shocked to hear that, but it’s a little surprising to see the company so up front about the issue. I guess that’s a good thing, but it still is a tad disconcerting to know that Square-Enix probably won’t even consider Wii for a true Final Fantasy. If Dragon Quest IX can hit DS and Dragon Quest X can hit Wii, why can’t the next Final Fantasy do the same? Article here

Does it bother you that we may never see Final Fantasy proper on Wii?

Our very own podcast member ‘The Stranger’ got herself a Wii for Christmas, and was very happy to show it off! I can’t believe one of our podcast members didn’t have a Wii already. If I knew that, she wouldn’t have been allowed on! GoNintendo is running on a weekend update schedule for Christmas day

Can you feel it in the air? The gaming sites/outlets are starting to pull back on coverage due to the holidays. These next two weeks could be very slow with news, but don’t worry about GoNintendo! We’ll be here everyday, just like usual. Things might be slow as far as news is concerned, but we’ll be around to report whatever is going on! As usual, I need some sleep to get that done, so I’m off to bed! See you all in a few, short hours. If you listened to our most recent podcast, you guys know that we’re in the market for a new podcast intro song. You may have also caught onto that by checking out the message Cort left in our announcements bar above. If you somehow missed both of those, allow me to fill you in… Long story short, it turns out that the song we started using for our 200th show on is actually the same song that the folks over at GamesRadar use. They caught onto us using the same song, and while they don’t have any special rights to it, we can understand how they feel like we’re using their baby. Of course, we would love to show our respect for the GR gang by picking another song to start our show with. That’s where you guys come in! We’re looking for a 25-30 second spot to start our show with. If you have something in mind, please make a suggestion in the thread linked below. We’ll listen to any and all suggestions, and have a new intro ready for the show coming up this Saturday! Link us to a YouTube video, point us to where we can download the track you have suggested, or do anything else you can to share it with us! Please click here to suggest your song

Which game did you spend more time with? For me, I’ve definitely been more involved with The Conduit. I’m tired of Call of Duty, but I’ll never tire of aliens! Link

Time for me to shuffle off to bed. I had a great night off, and it seems like you guys had a great time with Deux. Now that my house-hunting issues are settled, I can rest a little easier, and get back to having a permanent smile on my face! That is, right after I get some sleep. See you guys in a few, short hours! I don’t know, is it too early to be claiming a Rinry video as her best work yet? If not, then I have to give this latest feature my biggest nod of approval! As you guys know, I’m a huge fan of boxart. I often talk about how important I believe boxart to be, and how not enough people pay tribute to the hard work that goes into these creations. Little did I know that Rinry was working on a video about this very subject! She takes us through the history of boxart, and shows us just how important it is. We also get to see some of the best…and worst boxarts from the past 30 years. That’s enough chatter from me. Time to let you guys enjoy the video! Please make sure to share your thoughts with Rinry in the comments below! Direct link here

“The tour kicked off again on December 3rd and runs all the way through until Christmas Eve at Milton Keynes’ MK Centre, Manchester’s Trafford Centre and Lakeside. We are also running a BOGOF promotion in conjunction with GAME throughout Christmas on the Imagine range, advertising via leaflets that we will be handed out throughout the tour. We have already toured at Birmingham and Sheffield and had some great results with many girls interacting with the brand and also entering our competition to win a Nintendo DS. The tour has been very popular with kids and parents alike with high levels of participation. We have a great team working with us this year that are really passionate and always eager to engage with the customers. Imagine is already a recognised brand for these girls. They love the chance to be able to have a play and work out which games of the range are their favourites and what they really want for Christmas.” - brand manager Rachael Grant Ubisoft is set on milking the Imagine brand for all that it has. I mean, there’s nothing wrong with promoting your game line, I just think it sucks that Ubisoft takes that money and puts it mostly towards 360 and PS3 projects. Ubisoft, you have Red Steel 2 in the works for Wii…but how about some other core-oriented projects? Link
